Besengeh is the name of a sauce that is mildly spicy, not hot and has a lot of coconut added to it. The most famous dish is ayam besengeh, chicken in a mildly spiced coconut sauce. Fry the chicken beforehand so that it is crispy and then let it cook through in the sauce. Use Kokki Djawa boemboe (spice mix) besengeh to make this delicious sauce.
